Penguin Solitaire

Penguin Solitaire is a solitaire card game similar to Freecell. If your familiar with Freecell, the differences between the two games are this:

• Penguin Solitaire has 7 free cells to place cards in, instead of 4 in Freecell.
• Penguin Solitaire deals the cards into 7 columns instead of 8.
• Penguin Solitaire starts off the foundations with a random card rather than the Aces.
• Penguin Solitaire allows cards to wrap from King to Ace.
• In Quick Penguin Solitaire, the player builds down the columns regardless of suit. In Freecell, colors are alternated.
• Penguin Solitaire allows the player to move fully packed cards. In Freecell cards are moved one at a time.

If you've not played Penguin Solitaire or Freecell before, here's how to play. Start by filling in the foundations with the first card off the deck, and two other cards of the same value. Leave the fourth foundation empty, you will need to fill it during game play with the last card that has the same value as the other three foundations. The remaining 49 cards are dealt into 7 columns of 7 cards. Below the 7 cards are 7 free cells. These free cells can be used to store one card each to so that the player can maneuver other cards between the columns or to the foundations.

The cards in the columns are built down, regardless of suit. This is different than standard Penguin Solitaire, which requires cards to be built down by suit. Fully packed cards can also be moved between the columns. A fully packed set of cards, is a set where the cards are arranged down in order, but can not be a middle card in the order. The foundations must be built up by suit, wrapping from King to Ace. The player wins when all 52 cards have been moved to the foundations.
